I have, you may have noticed, based the succubi culture on imperial rome. It was not unusual for, say the emperor, (or other high ranking officials) to adopt an adult who had certain qualities in order to keep titles/power “In the family” when ones own children are not quite up to scratch.
so for an untitled “Commoner” succubi, being offered the chance to get power like this… who would refuse?
